Why I won't shut up about the "Dog Whisperer"
This is a photo of Chuy and my brother. Together. And Chuy isn't biting. Chuy has never sat on a lap other than Ian's or mine. Ever. In fact, as you may know, Chuy's never even sat next to anyone without attacking them. ¡Es increíble!

That's amazing. How did you do it?
We've taken away the Chu's role as pack leader and put ourselves in the authority position. It's been a complete re-examination of our relationship with him; we've become painfully aware of all the things we do that enable Chuy to be in charge. The most specific sort of hands-on change has been the addition of long, Cesar-style leadership walks, even for the 7-pound Chi.
We've still got a ways to go--and Chuy will try to take advantage of any opportunity we give him--but I can't believe how much less aggressive he is. We've surprised ourselves! Then again, we work on his behavior every day. Chuy's no Monty, after all!
